English A level coursework consists of two parts that need to be completed to get to advance (A) levels. The first year consists of advanced subsidiary (AS) level papers, while the advanced level 2 (A2) complete the modules for gaining A levels. A full-time course would be a General Certificate of Education qualification in the United Kingdom. It is attempted by students in year 12 and 13 during the optional final two years of secondary school also known as the Sixth form. It could also be attempted at a different sixth form college or other colleges after successfully completing IGCSE or GCSE exams. Essay writing is highly beneficial as it prepares students for industry.

A level coursework is expected to be of a very high level to set you apart from other students. As most subjects attempted at the A levels would be in English, it is important that students consider their English coursework seriously and make an attempt to improve language skills and grammar of the highest order. It could contain practical references to newspapers, advertising material, and visual effects. Focus should be on understanding how to apply English better through custom essays to areas of practical application. One such area is copywriting, which is a fine art of describing products and services in such an effective way as to encourage people to take action as per the directions in the text.

English A level coursework is distributed between the AS and A2 levels and has to be submitted at the end of each year. It accounts for nearly 30% of the marks allocated depending on the course taken up. AS level coursework is a vital exercise that lays the foundation for A2 level coursework. Evaluation is tough and can test a student’s grasp over the language. For example, students attempting the AQA A level course in English would be required to achieve A* – C grades in GCSE English coursework to study further. The assignment can be tough, as original and interested coursework is expected. In the first year, students develop and build a strong vocabulary. They would submit investigative and task-oriented coursework. Both these would help them grasp the creative aspect of English. A practical approach is used to teach students how to apply English for other coursework as well as use it in business applications.

The A2 level is more advanced and specifically designed to help students conduct language investigations and interventions. The second year allows students to cover advanced levels and develop a personal linguistic style of writing that could be adapted throughout in industry as well as to complete any assignment in English. Students generally chose their areas of personal interest. This helps in developing editorial skills. Confidence is built up that brings about versatility in the way the language is used in communication. There have been several changes in coursework students need to be aware of. For example, AQA English A level coursework requirements have been modified for the new term beginning in September 2010. More information can be obtained from the AQA website.
