An accounting essay becomes a major assignment when you have to suggest guidelines to develop and structure a research proposal in accounting. The exercise would involve applying the principles of accountancy and coming up with an essay outline including the guidelines. Your knowledge of accountancy would be tested to the core. What is more important though is that you be able to write an essay that is understood by a large audience, some of which might not be familiar with the principles of accountancy.

1.     The introduction would include the thesis statement that outlines the reason for the study you would be undertaking. It is important that it includes the main ideas and conveys the scope of the proposed study. The statement should be bold, should convey your stand on the topic, and should lead into the argument that presents your point of view. As a student, you would have to establish a scholarly approach and have good accounting knowledge on the topic.

2.     Accounting is the core activity in any business. The basics of how accountancy plays an important part can be highlighted in a business essay. Various business models can be supported by adapting the principles of accountancy. In fact, a business model has every chance of success if an accountant is also involved in decision making. They are well informed about what drives business and what can take it to the next level.

3.     There are some ethical issues an accountant has to worry about. Specifically when writing an audit essay, students often have to list out issues that would come under scrutiny. Accountants would have to consider ethics even at the cost of not benefiting the company. The accounting statement would be prepared and audited with the shareholders in mind. For example, accounting fraud brought down one of the largest companies in USA. The bankruptcy of Enron spurred US authorities to rectify discrepancies in regulations that governed business practices.

4.     Arguments placed in the body of the accountancy essay should complement the main argument. The arguments should justify the importance and implications of the research project. You should make efforts to define accounting terminology for the convenience of readers. References should be clearly quoted when required. It is imperative that you write the essay taking into consideration the limitations of research in a college essay.

5.     Try and use the question-and-answer format to connect with readers. For example, the research study would include several new concepts that you would need to explore. It is not always possible to quote reference material for better explanation. In this case, you could pose a question including the keyword you are trying to explain. The answer would take the place of an argument expressing your point of view.

6.     Relay your thoughts in a systematic manner with related arguments justifying the main argument. These arguments should follow one after another. They should establish the kind of analysis or accounting principles you would employ. At the same time, concepts should be clear to readers. You could use math coursework to establish concepts within the essay. The way you express your thoughts would determine if your accountancy essay would be successful or not.
