An evaluation essay does exactly what it is supposed to. It evaluates the thesis statement and brings into focus different aspects of the discussion surrounding it. It then prompts the reader to accept a certain point of view. Evaluation is done based on certain values and methodology that is common practice. Here are some common methods you could adapt to be on par with common practice.
Be generous in your approach. Do not consider this only in a critical point of view. As you proceed to place your arguments and observations, it would be important to note that you would be evaluated on the basis of your essay. Your viewpoints should therefore be logical and could agree with other viewpoints as well. You should not be very critical of others. Make it more of a proposal essay.
