Divorce Essay – Analysis Of Circumstances Leading To Divorce

A divorce essay is an important exercise, especially for college students. Divorce is the dissolution of a marriage. A law essay would term it as the final termination of a marital bond in which both the husband and wife end responsibilities towards each other in the eyes of the law. Most countries have made it mandatory for a court of law to decide the grounds for seeking divorce. The basis for granting divorce essentially boils down one fact – that a marriage has broken down to an irreparable extent. Before a court can grant divorce, it has to be convinced the marriage has broken down. Conditions may vary depending on cultural background, religious beliefs, or existing legal framework.

Analyzing Grounds For Divorce

Grounds may differ from country to country. For example, divorce is not supported under law in the Philippines. If a Pilipino marries as a citizen, gets divorced outside the country, and then marries again, the marriage would be considered an act of bigamy. Many such laws are applicable, but a divorce essay can present essential reasons for which divorce applies.

1.       Mental or physical torture by either of the spouse would present a strong case for divorce. A court of law would verify the facts before it passes judgment in such cases. Sometimes, a spouse would have undergone severe beating. Such incidents would force the legal system to consider a criminal case as well. Basically, unreasonable behavior by either spouse would allow for grounds to start proceedings.

2.       Adultery is another issue that allows for divorce. It is a serious offence. In most cases it results in divorce, if the affected spouse wants to go ahead with it. A stable marriage would condone such incidents through confession or counseling. A sociology essay would suggest that family members, neighbors, and community workers can play a major role in mending such relationships.

3.       Desertion is a visible sign of a spouse not being interested in staying married. A psychology essay would suggest that mental health professionals need to come in immediately when signs of stress become evident. Initially, it may seem that deserters would need some time away from home. They may want to stay away to get hold of themselves. Reasons could include frequent fights over money or ego clashes. When separation exceeds a reasonable amount of time, both the husband and wife would have to rethink their relationship. A court of law normally reasons that a period of two years is sufficient to seek divorce.

Children Can Protect Their Parents From Divorce

Parents find joy in their lives through children. Oftentimes, when men and women find less love for each other after marriage, their children play a big hand in keeping them together. They look up to their parents to make sense of many things in life. Parents are also motivated to be involved but may have messed up their own lives. In such circumstances, a child’s future often helps prevent disarray in the family. The divorce essay can stress on the fact that children recover faster from trauma, if parents try to reconcile.
