A Custom Feminism Essay

A feminism essay has become important to write even in this time and age. In many countries, we still observe a male-dominated society that thrives on affording women the status of a second-class citizen. They are not given opportunities to excel in various fields with subtle use of domination. A criticism essay would establish that it could be with the help of religion, physical strength, or by segregating jobs as per tradition. Women have been fighting for their rights for a very long time. The word feminism has achieved a totally different meaning now with the belief that they are better achievers than their male counterparts.

The first women’s rights convention was held as far back as 1848 in New York, which saw both men and women participating in it. Resolutions were made for the first time outlining grievances of women. Since then, the feminist movement has been fighting for the rights of women the world over. It is their strong belief that women can easily manage multiple tasks. They can take care of the children at home. At the same time, they can establish an individual identity in the corporate world or any other professional field.

Feminism In The Developed World

The feminism essay would suggest that the developed world has come to terms with equal rights for both men and women. Issues such as battering, sexual preference, job discrimination, and sexual harassment are openly discussed and solutions sought. One would think that this was the case for quite some time. In fact, women were given the right to vote only in the 1920s. It was believed that a true woman should be pious, pure, domestic, and submissive. These qualities always existed in women; but before the feminist movement came into existence, it was misused by men to subdue women. World War I helped the cause of women as they are badly needed in heavy industries while the men fought the war. They found an independence that offered meaning and direction for the latter women’s rights movements to follow. Today, we have women as politicians, judges, scientists, taking up nursing assignments in male-dominated areas like orthopedics, and relishing their new found status by enjoying contact sports like wrestling.

Feminism In Developing Countries

Developing countries have practical problems that are considered more intense and severe than a delicate issue like feminism. An abortion essay would suggest that it has become mandatory for women to show resentment whenever there is a hue and cry about abolishing abortion by men. The legal system has managed to make it legal for a woman to abort an unwanted child. Overpopulation is a dangerous situation that has forced governments to act. Religion had a role to play earlier in preventing such a move. Other issues of concern include poverty and non availability of natural resources. Such issues tend to generate superstition. Men have used it to designate certain jobs for women and define roles for them in the house including domestic work. Even in rich households, fear of male domination exists till date. The feminism essay would suggest that it would take more time for men and women to have total equality in every sense.
